Iranian anti-aircraft defense systems located on the island of Qeshm, near the Strait of Hormuz, would have been activated, reported the semi-official Tasnim agency.
According to the agency, anti-aircraft defense systems were put on alert near Qeshm Island.
Thus, Iranian anti-aircraft defense systems came into action following the detection of the presence of micro-drones near the island of Qeshm.
While it was not immediately clear whether these devices were intercepted, the vice-governor of Hormozgan province, Ahmed Nefisi, declared that the situation was under control and that the Iranian armed forces were on alert.
Hostilities in the region intensified after the United States and Israel launched joint strikes against Iran on February 28. In response, Tehran carried out retaliatory strikes against Israel and other countries in the region harboring US assets.
