The army has unveiled its latest semi-tactical non-armored off-road vehicle, the VT4, adapted from a Ford Everest. The two non-commissioned officers from the Army Information and Recruitment Center (Cirfa) in Agen don’t hesitate to let young and old climb into the big SUV. It’s the first tactical approach. Some goodies to target the objective. And plenty of job offers with promises of adventure to convince the curious to step inside the Cirfa and, perhaps one day, enlist.
Entrance is free
“The Army plans to recruit around 16,000 people, men and women, in 16 major fields of employment this year,” boasts the warrant officer, with thirty years of infantry experience in the rangers, and numerous experiences with the 8th Marine Infantry Parachute Regiment, from Sarajevo in 1996 to the Central African Republic in 2016.
The army recruits both combatants on the field and military personnel in IT, logistics, mechanics, chefs, administrative roles, and more. In total, there are over 120 professions to apply for, with or without qualifications, starting from 17 and a half years old. “We had a lot of contacts yesterday, a bit less today [Saturday, May 2]. We will also be very present in June at Garorock, which is our target audience.”
For the 30th edition, the Marmande Expo Fair features over a hundred exhibitors, a gourmet village, a funfair, a mini-farm, new pets, and day-long entertainment, including concerts, fashion shows, and robot parades.
