With its Tech Valley, Aix is looking towards the stars. It has been some time since the term has been mentioned in Mayor Joissains’ speeches. At the beginning of 2025, Jean-François Dubost, then Deputy Delegate for the Economy, now president of the association of companies in the Les Milles business park, outlined the project during a council meeting. The numbers were not exact – initially discussed were 22 hectares of development compared to the current 15 – but the main idea was on the table.
A little over a year later, on April 29, 2026, the foundations – or rather, the mindset – would be solid enough for the City to officially present the project to investors, SMEs, and the media. On one side, a Tech Valley (15 hectares) hosting companies, research laboratories, civilian and military aviation training centers: drones, equipment manufacturers, and even eVTOLs, light electric aircraft capable of vertical take-off and landing – potentially the taxis of the 21st century. All powered by 40,000 m² of office space and facilities, including parking, a restaurant, a mobile data center, and a high-performance computing super simulator (Calculation…)
