Biography of Private First Class Florian Gillet in Lebanon
Né le 1er mars 2005 à Viriat, le first class soldier Florian Gillet commits on 1is October 2024 to 8e marine infantry parachute regiment à Castres (Tarn). Â
As soon as he arrived, he fully invested in his initial general training and then in his infantry specialty technical training, during which he obtained excellent results. Patented parachutist in 2025, he joined the 4eCompany as an infantryman. During his career, he distinguished himself by his commitment, his determination and his excellent state of mind, qualities which earned him the distinction of private first class on 1is avril 2025.
Deployed to Lebanon since June 1, 2026 as an infantry combat monitor assistant, he participated in an operational military partnership mission for the benefit of the Lebanese armed forces within the Saliyeh operational military partnership detachment (DPMO). During this operation, he was hit by an accidental shot during the preparatory phase of training.
Aged 21, private first class Florian Gillet was single and childless. He died in operation while carrying out his mission on June 10, 2026.
