The Defense Innovation Agency (AID) is organizing, on Friday, April 17, 2026 at the Ecole Polytechnique, the first event of the Ministry of the Armies and Veterans dedicated to quantum technology.
In a strategic environment marked by the acceleration of technological disruptions, quantum applications in computing, sensors, and communications are a decisive factor for operational superiority and sovereignty.
The purpose of this forum is to structure the national ecosystem of quantum technologies serving defense challenges. This event marks the involvement of the Ministry of the Armies and Veterans in the national quantum strategy, highlighting the potential of quantum technologies and the associated sovereignty issues. It will bring together actors from the defense industry base (BITD) and the civilian industry as well as research organizations and investors.
Held under the high patronage and in the presence of Catherine Vautrin, Minister of the Armies and Veterans, this forum will also involve:

- Armament Engineer Patrick Aufort, Director of the Defense Innovation Agency
- Armament Engineer Laura Chaubard, Director General of the Ecole Polytechnique
The program includes conferences, workshops, and roundtable discussions, as well as meetings with the armed forces, departments, and services and their partners to explore the advancements and prospects offered by quantum technologies in the defense sector. An ambitious initiative to strengthen a sector contributing to France’s strategic autonomy.
