In a press conference earlier today, Philippe Diallo, president of the FFF, and Marc Keller outlined the details of the upcoming Ligue 3 competitions. They discussed the broadcasting aspect, confirming that the entire championship would be covered by Ligue 1+.

The LFP channel and the French Football Federation have signed an agreement for the next three seasons, with no financial contribution.

A schedule that lacks consideration for spectators

It should be noted that for this first season, eight so-called “eventful” days will be played on Fridays or Saturday evenings at the request of the clubs, especially for hospitality reasons – Saturday afternoons are not ideal for hosting partners. These are: J1, J2, J3, J8, J9, J26, J33, and J34.

As for the TV schedule:

  • A match (the highlight of the day) will be broadcast on Thursday at 8:45 PM
  • The other eight matches will be played on Saturdays at 3:00 PM. They will be broadcast as a multiplex and individually as well.

Regarding the production of matches, there will be significant improvements compared to what the National league has experienced in recent seasons. The Thursday night game will have 5 cameras, while the other eight games will have 2 each (compared to just 1 previously).

There will also be enhanced editorial content with advanced live coverage, greater immersion, the creation of a “My Little Prediction” dedicated to Ligue 3, and new formats during the week in collaboration with clubs.

Statement from Ligue 1+

Starting from the restart of the Ligue 3 championship on August 6th, all matches will be exclusively broadcast live on Ligue 1+.

For the 2026/2027 season, Ligue 1+ will offer all nine matches of each matchday, demonstrating its commitment to the visibility and promotion of all professional French football.

Comprehensive and immersive coverage

Each matchday will start on Thursday at 8:45 PM with the game of the weekend. These matches will have an enhanced setup with five cameras, a commentator duo in the stadium, and a field journalist, providing complete editorial coverage.

The other eight matches will be broadcast on Saturdays at 3:00 PM as part of a dedicated multiplex. Each game will have its specific channel and will be shown in full with a two-camera setup.

Every Saturday evening, Ligue 3 will also have a dedicated segment in the Ligue 1+ magazine.

Enhanced digital offerings

On the Ligue 1+ social media channels, real-time excerpts will be shared throughout the weekend, along with additional editorial content.

With this complete and immersive broadcasting offer, Ligue 1+ will enable fans to follow the entirety of Ligue 3 throughout the season.

Starting from next season, the channel will offer over 25 hours of live coverage each week, providing an exceptional offering for all supporters of French professional football.
