The gala evening of French football has delivered its verdict. Ousmane Dembélé has been elected the best player of Ligue 1 for the 2025-26 season at the UNFP Trophies held at the Palais Brongniart in Paris on Monday, May 11.
In other categories, Parisian Désiré Doué was named the best young player of the championship, retaining his title from the previous year. With seven goals and two assists in 22 games, the French winger surpassed his teammates Warren Zaïre-Emery and Joao Neves, as well as Valentin Barco from Strasbourg and Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille.
A key player in the successful season for Sang et Or, Lens’ Robin Risser was named the best goalkeeper at just 21 years old. Meanwhile, Pierre Sage (RC Lens) received the award for best coach.
On the women’s side, Melchie Dumornay from Haiti (OL Lyonnes) secured the title of the best player in the Arkema Première Ligue, recognizing a fantastic year for her.
