On Monday, UEFA revealed the name of the referee who will officiate the second leg of the Champions League semi-final between Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.

After winning the first leg in a spectacular fashion (5-4), PSG will visit Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena, where they secured their first Champions League title last season by defeating Inter Milan. The Parisians will also reunite with the same referee from that final, Joao Pinheiro.

The 38-year-old Portuguese referee was appointed by UEFA on Monday. He was the fourth official in the Champions League final won by Luis Enrique’s team in Munich on May 31 (5-0 against Inter Milan). Pinheiro also officiated the UEFA Super Cup final won by PSG against Tottenham on August 18 (2-2 after extra time, 4-3 on penalties).

On the Bavarian side, Pinheiro has previously officiated two Bayern victories in the Champions League against Slovan Bratislava last season (3-1) and against PSV Eindhoven on January 28 (2-1).
