The 30th round of Ligue 1 continued on Saturday evening with the match between LOSC and Nice. The stakes were drastically different for both teams, as LOSC could secure their third-place position and gain a 4-point lead over Marseille with a victory, while Nice desperately needed points to avoid relegation, sitting at a worrying 15th place before the match. The pressure was high at the Pierre-Mauroy stadium.

However, LOSC seemed off their game this time and missed the opportunity to capitalize on Marseille’s slip-up. In the early minutes, it was actually Nice who appeared more threatening and dangerous. Elye Wahi almost scored after a great play by Mohamed-Ali Cho, but the goal was disallowed for offside. This served as a warning for LOSC in the match.

Despite some chances, LOSC could not score, and the teams went into halftime at a stalemate. In the second half, despite the presence of Olivier Giroud, LOSC could not break through Nice’s solid defense. Several dangerous set pieces for LOSC did not result in goals. A penalty awarded to Perraud was canceled by the VAR, and the match ended in a 0-0 draw, benefiting Nice more, who remain 5 points away from Auxerre. LOSC may regret missed opportunities as their lead over competitors could diminish by the end of the weekend.
