Restructuring of the Suzanne-Germain hall in Pré-en-Pail: a project over a million

The diagnosis carried out in 2011 revealed the various actions to be implemented to ensure that the facility meets current needs.

After fifteen years, on Saturday, March 28, 2026 in Pré-en-Pail-Saint-Samson (Mayenne), the Suzanne-Germain hall was rehabilitated.

Built in 1965 by the municipality of Pré-en-Pail, the hall is heavily used by the college, schools, and local associations.

A project exceeding one million

“This sports facility was partially renovated and then completed with an additional adjoining hall to make it more efficient,” explained Diane Rouland in one of her final speeches as President of the Mont des Avaloirs Community of Municipalities (CCMA).

“Despite the funds committed since 2018, this old hall and the extension had waterproofing issues with the roof. It was necessary to reinforce the structure to support the new roof,” she added.

A photovoltaic solar installation was also installed on the extension roof for an estimated annual production of 195 MWh, with 60% self-consumption.

“I know the delay has inconvenienced you”

The total cost of these works amounted to €1,018,368 excluding taxes, funded thanks to subsidies from the state (€150,000), the Department of Mayenne (€431,775), and the CCMA (€436,593).

“The weather conditions last summer caused damage and a significant delay in the construction. I address the school representatives, associations, I know the delay has inconvenienced you and I thank you for your patience,” apologized the community representative.

This new hall will breathe new life into several associations.

“Starting next week, we will be able to train for an hour and a half instead of 45 minutes,” exclaimed a 13-year-old member of US Pré-en-Pail Handball.

79 hours of weekly usage

Currently, there are 16 regular users of the hall. Sports associations in the area require 45 hours per week, and the two primary schools, the college, and the MFR need 34 hours per week.
