A famous name, but an approach that is the opposite of glitter. As revealed to us Purepeople,
Simon DujardinJean’s son, has just launched an online fundraiser to finance an independent short film entitled Reste Branché. No special treatment or red carpet: the young man gets involved in the field to realize his cinematic ambitions, in his own way.

Now aged 26, the eldest son of the Oscar-winning actor and Gaëlle Demars is nevertheless immersed in a well-established environment: between an uncle (Marc) a producer and a brother (Jules, a year younger) who has already appeared in front of the camera, cinema is a family affair. Yet Simon deliberately chose to start behind the scenes. A profitable strategy to avoid the trap of favoritism and prove one’s worth through work, far from the paternal spotlight.

Simon Dujardin turns to cinema

If we trust his Linkedin profile, after his baccalaureate, Simon Dujardin first focused on information by joining the European Institute of Journalism in Paris. He notably completed an internship at RTL in 2019, the opportunity to produce radio reports. Within the ESEC, he trains in all formats, from fiction to documentary via the web, and learns to use shooting and editing tools. Two years in this context allowed him to deepen his knowledge of the cinema and audiovisual professions.

When he left school, Simon Dujardin joined Collective 64a production company co-directed by his uncle Marc Dujardin. He worked there for almost a year as a production assistant, a coordination position far from the glitter, and notably participated in the production of the mini-series Zorro
