The must-sees, from the Town Hall to the quays
The meeting has become a classic. In the main courtyard of the Town Hall, the Lyon Symphony Orchestra gives two free concerts without registration, on the theme “Heroes and legends”. On the program, the music of Aristochatsd’E.T.of Toy Story et Cinderella. Two sessions are planned for Sunday, at 7 p.m. then at 9 p.m.
This concert is one of the thirteen stages certified by the city of Lyon, spread over 22 sites. And to enjoy all the styles, while strolling along the rivers, several stages are set up on the quays (Saint-Antoine, Victor-Augagneur, Romain-Rolland) where they will alternate Sunday, from 6 p.m. to midnight, pop rock groups, choirs, funk, soul but also metal.
Due to the current heatwave, the city of Lyon announced on Thursday that it would “adapt” the conditions for organizing the Music Festival. “The labeled stages will benefit from shaded spaces, with hours mainly scheduled from 6 p.m.,” she wrote in a press release. Reminder of protective measures in the face of heat, information on nearby water points and fountains, adaptation of assembly schedules for the companies involved, reinforced protection of technical teams and municipal agents (including the provision of water)… “Specific instructions were sent to the organizers in order to reinforce the prevention,” she says. The municipality also warns that certain events may be “adjusted or canceled if security conditions do not allow them to continue.” “Thus, the first group scheduled at Place Charles-de-Gaulle in front of the Auditorium is canceled due to time constraints,” she indicates.
Cap sur la Jamaica, Ã Vaise
At Roquette Park, the 9th arrondissement will take the public on a journey for a Jamaican Music Festival with reggae, dub and world music, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Sunday. On site, refreshment bar and catering. A group dance class is scheduled for 5 p.m.
Open air XXL techno
At Gerland Park, five Lyon collectives are joining forces for the “Electro Park” event, promising eleven hours of continuous electronic music, Sunday, from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m.. On site, two stages, one tekno and acid, the other dub and bass music, which recall a format reminiscent of large European summer gatherings. Free entry, upon registration.
Family Music Festival
At the Marché Gare, children are at the center of the programming for the Music Festival. This is the 6th edition of this 100% kids version of the event, which takes place Saturday afternoon, from 3:30 p.m.. On the program: workshops, concerts, shows, games, books, collective fresco, glitter, syrup bar, pancakes… And introductions to the electronic harp!
At the MOB Hotel too, we think of the little ones. The establishment partners with the Airt de Famille festival and offers a party with DJ sets but also introductions to mixing. It is necessary to register to participate in the event, which takes place Sunday, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.Ã Confluence.
The Music Festival for three days
Why have one day of celebration when you can have three? For those who want to celebrate the arrival of summer as it should be, La Commune is organizing its Les Grandes Heures festival, with three days of DJ sets and the emerging Lyon scene, from Friday 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, the party continues, from 12:30 p.m. Enter free.

A blind test among classic cars
