AJACCIO – Old cars, music: a return to the 1950s at the citadel

Vintage cars, swing music and a retro atmosphere take over the Citadel of Ajaccio on June 23 and 24 for two free evenings (from 4 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.) in the heart of a vintage village inspired by the 1950s. This is the very first Cars and Swing Festival imagined by the Rétro Club Automobile Ajaccien, in partnership with the City of Ajaccio On the program: automobile heritage, live concerts, swing music and guinguette atmosphere.

PORTO-VECCHIO – The return of  A Branata d’Omara

Saturday June 20 from 11 a.m., the L’Animu media library becomes the scene of the 4th spring meeting “A Branata”, from Éditions Omara. An entire day dedicated to contemporary literary creation, punctuated by author interviews, readings and the expected “literary fights”. The day is built as a permanent dialogue between authors, mediators and the public. All public, free entry.

The 18th edition of the Ajaccio literary meetings is being held until June 21, at the Palais Fesch-museum of Fine Arts and Hors les Murs. The literary festival, designed and directed by Mychèle Leca, is this year placed under the theme “Rai de lumières”. Friday June 19, 6pm, 30pm: inaugural conversation with Antoine Compagnon, member of the French Academy and historian Jean-François Sirinelli. À 20 30, dialogue between the violonist and romancer Léonor de Récondo and the Argentinian director Santiago Amigorena.

Saturday June 20, at 11 a.m., as the Matisse exhibition continues at the Grand Palais in Paris, Laurence des Cars, juror for the Art Book Prize and heritage curator, will speak with Antoine Compagnon. At 4:30 p.m., Philippe Forrest meets Jean de Loisy, specialist in modern and contemporary art. BONIFACIO Presentation of work and dedication

Friday June 19 at 6 p.m. at the media library: presentation and signing on Marinagi and Piscaiù di Bonifazziu,Gestures and bones of the Mà , Fishermen of Bonifacio, Gestes et Rites de la Mer, is a book of poetry and prose by Alain di Meglio, professor emeritus of the University of Corsica, researcher and teacher in sociolinguistics, and Philippe Pierangeli, author, photographer and publisher. Between Bonifacio’s language, Corsican and French, Alain di Meglio and Philippe Pierangeli offer us like a Chjami rispondi, an oratorical joust, between two languages, writing and photography. Â

AJACCIO – Premières notes d’Opus Corsica

The Opus Corsica festival continues its program of excellence by welcoming renowned artists to Ajaccio. Kick-off on June 22, Cité Grossetti, with a concert of great opera arias at 8:30 p.m.

The public will also be able to find the actor and director Daniel Mesguich in Théâtre & Piano, on June 23 at the Saint-Érasme Church. The next day, Cité Grosseti, the pianist Bruno Rigutto, recognized as one of the great interpreters of Chopin of his generation, will offer a recital dedicated to Chopin Nocturnes.
