Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was almost one of the longest films in cinema history

Tonight, TMC broadcasts the first part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows that’s 9:10 p.m. When it was released in cinemas on November 24, 2010, this film marked a real turning point for the Hollywood industry by democratizing the production of blockbusters in two parts. Hunger Games La Révolte, Avengers Infinity War et Endgame, Dune or even Wicked : today, there is no shortage of examples of this type. And unsurprisingly, this practice sometimes criticized for its marketing aspect is essentially attributed to the success of both parties of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Except that originally, the decision to split the ultimate adaptation of the adventures of the wizard with glasses was more artistic than it was commercial.

The seventh part of the saga began production as a single feature film. But when the initial cut of the film (called workprint) turned out to be approximately 5h30 long – what would have made it the 18th longest film in cinema history in 2010 – a decision had to be made. For producer David Heyman, it was impossible to broadcast such a long work without it losing clarity and emotional impact. This is how Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows turned into a two-part cinematic event, opening the door to the many blockbusters from major franchises that followed.

The cult saga enters a new era

Me like the marathon Harry Potter of TF1 is coming to an end, fans of the cult saga are not lacking in good news at the moment. In particular, we learned that production of the reboot series is progressing at a good pace. This follows a well-considered schedule in order to prevent filming from dragging on and the actors from aging too quickly, a phenomenon including the final season of Stranger Things suffers greatly.

Amusement park aficionados are also not left out with the announcement of the construction of a themed zone Harry Potter within the LEGOLAND Deutschland park in Germany. The land will also be accompanied by a hotel, which will therefore mark the construction of the very first hotel Harry Potter official in the world. For the moment, there is unfortunately still no official news concerning the presence of a Wizarding World land in the future Universal park in the United Kingdom. Only the English tabloid The Sun claims that an agreement has been established between Warner Bros and Universal.
