Donald Trump wanted a deal. He finally gets it just before celebrating his 80th birthday and attending a show on the lawns of the White House. “The agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now reached. Congratulations to everyone”greeted the head of state on his Truth Social network. The American president also announced the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the lifting of the American naval blockade.

An agreement confirmed by Kazem Gharibabadi, the Iranian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs on state television: “Permanent and immediate end to the war and military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon”he announced. The signing is planned for Friday in Geneva, according to the Pakistani Prime Minister. This will be discussed at the G7 in Évian, where Donald Trump is expected during the day, Monday June 15.

Emmanuel Macron reacted before this agreement: “The objective will be to see the consequences of this agreement, the support for Lebanon, the reopening of Hormuz over time, and obviously, the conclusion of an agreement on nuclear and ballistics in Iran”a énuméré le président.

An agreement however fragile, recalls an expert on the France 2 set: “We are in something which is a ceasefire disguised somewhat as a peace agreement, with a commitment for 60 days.” There is still much to be clarified. Negotiations will begin within 60 days in order to reach a final agreement.
