Summer promises to be full of activities in Nancy (Meurthe-et-Moselle). Friday June 5, during a press conference, the City presented the highlights of the summer season. Guinguettes, fan zone, open-air cinema, swimming pools and July 14 fireworks : many activities await you in the coming weeks. Here’s what you need to know.Â
Les guinguettes à Nancy en 2026Â
Since Friday June 12, seven taverns have opened their doors in Nancy:
- parc Blondot,
- place Carnot,
- parc Charles-III,
- Cure d’Air park,
- terrace of Porte de la Craffe,
- Deux Rives Beach (Nancy side)
- parc Olry
They will remain open until August 30. If the operators are the same as last year, something new is appearing this season: the solidarity tavern in Olry Park will be open throughout the summer.
The July 14 fireworks in a unique location in Nancy
Like every year, the mayor of Nancy, Mathieu Klein, announced a new location for the July 14 fireworks display. In 2026, the show will be visible from the Kennedy viaduct, near Nancy station. It will be shot from the roof of the Prouvé Centerlocated just opposite the work.
Around 20,000 people are expected for the event. The fireworks show is scheduled to begin at 11:45 p.m.
@lorraine.actu 🎆 We now know the location from which the fireworks will take place on July 14 in Nancy (Meurthe-et-Moselle). Like every year, the location changes. After Nancy Thermal, Place Stanislas or even the Plateau de Haye, the City of Nancy has chosen a new site for its pyrotechnic show in 2026. During a press conference dedicated to the summer program, this Friday, June 5, the municipality lifted the veil on the system planned for the National Day, by unveiling Both the shooting location and the space from which the public can admire the show. This year, the choice fell on a particularly unexpected site to see the fireworks: the Kennedy viaduct, in the immediate vicinity of Nancy station. It will be fired at 11:15 p.m. from the roof of a private building, the Prouvé center, located opposite the work. Nearly 20,000 spectators are expected. Why did you choose such a location, above the railway tracks? “It’s a partnership with the SNCF, because the Nancy station is celebrating its 170th anniversary this year. It’s a way of celebrating this anniversary and putting this emblematic place in the spotlight,” explains Bertrand Masson, deputy mayor responsible for culture and cultural heritage. This choice should, however, have consequences on traffic. The Kennedy viaduct notably accommodates the trolleybus as well as a lane reserved for motorists, which could lead to restrictions and disruptions around the site on the evening of the festivities. A fan zone at Parc de la Pépinière
A fan zone will be well established in the ducal city, but it will not broadcast all the matches of the World Cup. Only the semi-final and the final will be broadcast on a giant screen.
Supporters will meet at the Parc de la Pépinière to follow these matches. However, if the French team qualifies for the final, the fan zone will exceptionally be moved to Place Stanislas in order to accommodate a larger audience.
Open-air cinema in Nancy and the metropolis
In total, 17 outdoor cinema screenings are scheduled this summer. In Nancy, screenings will take place at the Plage des Deux Rives or on the Nancy Thermal esplanade. The complete program is available by clicking here.
Sessions are also planned in Laxou, Jarville-la-Malgrange and Villers-lès-Nancy. Moreover, in these last two communes, residents have the opportunity to vote to choose the film that will be shown.
Swimming pools in the Greater Nancy Metropolis
The Metropolis announced in May that the Laxou and Lido swimming pools in Tomblaine will remain closed all summeruntil August 31, due to work and maintenance operations.
But rest assured, other swimming places will remain accessible, as well as courses and activities offered in several swimming pools: the Michel-Bertrand swimming pool in Vandœuvre-lès-Nancy, that of Laneuveville-devant-Nancy, Nancy Thermal, the Pierre-de-Coubertin swimming pool in Nancy, as well as the Plage des Deux Rives.
The Nancy Thermal spa will also be open.Â
