Strengthening security
To avoid a second part of the scuffles that occurred last year after the music festival, the City decided to make security a point of honor. A public space security system – managed by the prefecture – will be put in place via filter barriers and “thanks to cooperation between the national police and the municipal police”, indicates the mayor, Antoine Desfretier. “The City is also mobilizing 22 agents who will be present on the perimeter. In addition, a dozen security agents from a private company are hired,” specifies Thierry Alonso, deputy in charge of daily life and security. The Reception and Support Center for Risk Reduction among Drug Users (CAARUD) and Addictions France, two prevention associations, will also be present across the city. The municipality also decreed that the music would stop at 11:30 p.m. of alcohol at midnight and that drinking establishments would close at 12:30 a.m.
