Exhibition “Carnet embarked to the abyss”
The media libraries are opening, this Friday, June 12, an exhibition based on the human, scientific and artistic adventure of the book “News from the bottom, Carnet embarked to the abysses” (Éditions Arthaud), illustrated by Damien Roudeau, in order to raise public awareness of the issues surrounding the preservation of mineral resources submarines. The exhibition is visible during usual opening hours in the three media libraries in Lorient. Free entry.
Exhibition “Lorient trajectories beyond the seas”
Discover the brand new exhibition proposed by the Cap vers le monde association, which highlights life journeys, travel stories and maritime links uniting Lorient to the rest of the world through the prism of cultural exchange. The opening takes place this Friday, at 6 p.m. at the Hôtel Gabriel, east wing.
Signings and meeting with Franck Thilliez
The famous writer Franck Thilliez comes to meet his readers for a signing session followed by a time of discussion around his detective novels. The event will be held this Friday, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Au vent des mots bookstore. Free entry (meeting upon registration).
Screening of the film “Les Merveilles”
The association I saw a documentary is offering the broadcast of Alice Rohrwacher’s film (2014) which retraces the life of a family of beekeepers in Umbria. The screening will begin this Friday at 8 p.m. at the Le Manège cinema, at 10, rue Colbert. Prices: from €3 to €7 (online or on-site ticketing).
Concert by the choir “Les Courants d’Air”
This large ensemble of more than 70 choristers from the Lorient region, directed by Roselyne Dauneau, offers a dynamic vocal concert with a varied repertoire of French songs revisiting several generations of authors (Juliette Armanet, Nougaro, Rita Mitsouko…). At 8 p.m., Sacré-Coeur du Moustoir church, rue François-Le Levé. Free participation.
