What we now call the Patrick Bruel affair continues to gain intensity. For several years, testimonies from women have been accumulating against the artist, stories which had until now led to investigations closed without further action. But Flavie Flament’s complaint for rape, combined with new accusations, took the case to a whole new dimension. Faced with all this, the singer maintains his version: he firmly denies the facts and assures that he has never coerced anyone. Presumed innocent in the eyes of the law, Patrick Bruel nevertheless sees his image cracking day after day. The stories multiply, and with them, the doubts of his audience. Even early fans seem less and less inclined to come to his defense, some having already given up on attending his Ici Regarde 35 tour, while feminist associations are demanding the cancellation of his concerts. The pressure mounts, and the noose tightens a little more each day around the artist.

Patrick Bruel facing the storm: what is his state of mind today?

Under pressure, Patrick Bruel slowly began to retreat on all fronts. Summer concerts canceled from June to September, withdrawal of the Enfoirés troupe to “not put any of you in any embarrassment”… so many decisions which mark an unprecedented withdrawal for the artist. And as if that wasn’t enough, a former volunteer from the troop has just taken the floor to accuse him of inappropriate behavior behind the scenes. But behind the public decisions, a man who wavers. Indeed, according to a relative interviewed by Le Parisien, Patrick Bruel is “having this very badly” and is going through a particularly trying period. However, the person who finds himself at the heart of the accusations would not think of throwing in the towel. On the contrary: described as “combative”, he would “not at all consider ending his career” and would display a fierce desire to “fight to the end to prove his innocence”.

The singer supported at all costs by his partner in the shadow of the accusations

This May 30, Maître Myriam Guedj Benayoun, who defends one of the plaintiffs, appeared on the BFMTV set to react to the cancellation of the concerts. For her client, there is no question of speaking of “relief”, but of “evidence”: “She is convinced of what she has experienced. I remind you that she is denouncing acts of rape which have taken over her professional life, her social life. She says, ‘I took life’ […] She will be relieved when she recognizes that she is a victim.” For his part, Patrick Bruel would not be alone in getting through this particularly trying period. His partner Clémence, more than thirty years his junior, would remain loyal to him despite the media and legal storm which falls on the singer While waiting for justice to do its work, one certainty remains: if the summer concerts have been sacrificed, the dates of the Then Regarde 35 tour, which extend until 2027, remain maintained for the time being.
