The Bellarena Indoor Festival in Switzerland announced, Tuesday May 26, the postponement sine the of the Patrick Bruel concert scheduled for June 26, after the proliferation of complaints of sexual violence against the French singer.
Invoking the “current context surrounding the arrival of Patrick Bruel”, the organizers of this concert, which was to take place in Fribourg, indicated in a press release that they had “chose to postpone this date in order to give justice time to establish the facts with the necessary hindsight and objectivity.” They specify that “the situation will be reassessed in due course with a view to the 2027 edition of the festival.” “In the current circumstances, it is not possible to ensure the promotion of this show in adequate and peaceful conditions,” they added.
“This decision was taken in a spirit of respect, serenity and kindness, towards the artists as well as the public and the people concerned.”

Patrick Bruel, who is due to launch his tour on June 16 at the Cirque d’Hiver in Paris, then visit numerous French cities, Switzerland and Belgium, is invited by several mayors, notably those of Paris and Marseille, to give up performing in their cities, due to four complaints for rape in France and a judicial investigation for sexual assault in Belgium.
Patrick Bruel contests all of the facts with which he is accused. Three concerts by the singer, planned for December in Quebec, were canceled. In Switzerland, he is due to perform on June 25 at the Pully Live Festival and on November 18 at the Geneva Arena.
On Monday, the Paléo Festival, one of Europe’s largest open-air music festivals, reported that in 2019, a “unacceptable behavior” reported by a volunteer during Patrick Bruel’s visit, ended with an agreement between the latter and the French singer.
These statements followed the revelations of the TF1 show “Sept à Huit” broadcast on Sunday May 24, according to which a volunteer masseuse from the Paléo, which is held every year in Nyon, between Geneva and Lausanne, denounced the behavior of the singer, during a massage organized backstage at the festival, on July 28, 2019.
According to Paleo, “legal proceedings have been initiated” between the volunteer and Patrick Bruel, “which was concluded in 2022 by an agreement between the parties including a confidentiality clause”.
According to “Sept à Huit”, the singer’s lawyer confirmed the agreement to them, while emphasizing that“there was no gesture on the part of Patrick Bruel towards her”.
