The idea for this album was born over a year ago. The objective of Leadback, 39 years old, was clear: to bring together amateur island artists around an accessible and modern musical universe, while retaining traditional Corsican sounds and instruments.
The result does not leave you indifferent. Violins, guitars, songs in Corsican and afro house or pop house influences intersect throughout the album’s fifteen tracks.
“The bet was bold: combine the Corsican language with festive and electro sounds inspired by the world of clubs in order to reach a younger audience“, explains the artist. “All the singers played the game, even if it wasn’t necessarily their style at the start. They came out of their comfort zone.”
The album does not contain any covers: each song is an original creation, written and composed by Leadback.
At the age of 11, he received his first turntables and began learning to mix. He then trained in computer-assisted music (MAO) and scratching in Paris, before winning the French scratch championship in 2008.
