For Pentecost Monday 2026, RECRE will develop at its emblematic Blanchemer location three Vosges works which could, should or will be fully cinematic. According to the theme this year of the Mixed Arts Festival.
We have often compared Maurice Pottecher and Marcel Pagnol, in their colorful regional comedies (e.g. the card game of the Silver Ecu (1903, which prefigures that of Marius). And we have named Georges Pottecher, brother of Maurice, uncle of Frédéric / “The Lorraine Raimu !».
Who also said “Bussang, it’s Marseille!” comparing the Vosges imagination of “Glorieux” to that of galéjades!
But if the Vosges author benefited for a long time from his warm popular theater – the Théâtre du Peuple – he missed the cinema which made Provençal famous. Certainly, Pierre Richard Willm, his successor, three films per year before the war, was offered Hollywood, but chose Bussang.
On Pentecost Monday, RECRE will present, immediately following the Jubilee of the 130th anniversary of the Théâtre du Peuple, three large extracts from plays: “Pentecost Monday”, obviously. “Le Sotré de No«l†, for very pagnolesque comedies.
And “Hans Castle”, for the legendary and the fantastic, which magnifies the Vosges.
The finale, with a free drink, will be the occasion for a concert by the participating musicians.
Name(s) of speakers: Troupes RECRE (Hautes-Vosges) and Ame en scène (Epinal-Thiéfosse), troupes of the Departmental Committee of the FNCTA, National Federation of Amateur Theater Companies.
Musicians: Jean Claude Luçon and Michel Génini (Fresse-sur-Moselle), Romain Foissey, Bruno Parmentier
(Bussang), Luc Souny (Raon-aux-Bois).
