A castle, an open courtyard, a few notes in the evening air: in Brie-Comte-Robert, the Fête de la Musique 2026 takes place in a setting that changes from the usual scenes. Located around thirty kilometers south-east of Paris, the Château de Brie-Comte-Robert is one of the historic landmarks of the town. It would have been built around 1160 by Robert I of Dreux, son of King Louis VI the Fat and brother of Louis VII, then first lord of Brie.

The site is distinguished by its architecture of château fort médiéval. Originally, it had a square plan, surrounded by a moat, with an enclosure flanked by towers. This fairly readable form still allows us to understand its defensive function, but also its role in the organization of the city in the Middle Ages. After periods of deterioration, the castle was the subject of significant conservation work. Bought by the municipality in the 20th century, it was classified as a historic monument in 1925. Since the 1980s, the association of Friends of the Old Castle participates in its development, with restoration actions, archaeological research and transmission to the public.

For the Fête de la Musique 2026the castle therefore becomes a meeting place between local heritage and musical atmosphere. A simple way to enjoy an early summer evening, before discovering the program below.
