C‘is a little “blood red” book full of bomb sounds and revolutionary fury. It documents with surgical precision this abundant decade – the 1970s – during which all Italian cinema, from the highest to the most commercial, all genres combined (from thriller to gothic horror via the western) inevitably became political. Each chapter opens with a bloody news item (written in red letters) which marred these “years of lead”: attack on Piazza Fontana in Milan, attempted coup d’état by Junio Valerio Borghese, assassination of Aldo Moro.
