For all tastes
This year, to chair the jury, the meeting invited Cartouche: “He is in the middle of preparing his new show, ‘’Behind the Ball,'” underlines Tony Feijo, not excluding the Villeneuve public from getting the scoop on a few extracts. This former classical dancer already has eight one-man shows to his credit, some of which directed by Marie-Claude Pietragalla or Kad and Olivier.
As for the candidates, the Festival du laughter team visited the café-theaters, festivals and comedy clubs of France to find six talents, including two women, “with the aim of choosing humorous universes that are different from each other”, specifies Tony Feijoo.
Thus, festival-goers will be able to discover the unique personality of Angie Degrolard, already the holder of numerous humor awards; the Tex Avery-style universe of Basclo, a star seed unearthed at a Good Vibes Comedy club in Villeneuvois; David Semmana, with a more family humor where the hamster has its place; the dean of the class, Mickaël Louchat; the crazy energy of Simon Noëms; and, finally, the discovery of Avignon in the person of Noémie Bousquainaud.
Tribute to Bruno Salomon
The Laughter Festival wanted to pay tribute to the memory of Bruno Salomone, who died on March 15, at the age of 56. He is preparing a tribute to the man who started his career on the stage of Georges-Leygues, candidate for the competition: “It was in 1998. At the time, he was a member of Nous c nous, alongside Jean Dujardin, remembers André Delas, responsible for programming the Festival. He won the jury prize. It was the first time he won a comedy competition.”
Subsequently, Bruno Salomone remained faithful to Villeneuve-sur-Lot, returning in 2003 with his show “N’est pas guinea pig who wants”, which made him popular with the public. “Then, many times, we welcomed him as a visitor, with his dog,” continues André Delas. We never lost contact.”
