Nothing is going well in this castle and estate, an emblem of the tolerance of King Henry IV. All the elements of a harmful situation are present. The facts brought to light do not relate to simple individual excesses or occasional management errors. What appears today is the existence of a deeply installed, old, structured system, tolerated for decades.
A system based on opaque practices, logic of favoritism, unbalanced power relations and mechanisms of influence which have progressively degraded the financial and human functioning of the public service.
On May 28, a meeting was held on site between local and national trade union organizations and the General Directorate of Heritage and Architecture (DGPA) and the head of the inspection in order to take stock and find solutions.
The agents of the Château de Pau today need:
- de vérété ;
- protection;
- neutrality in future decisions;
- a healthier administrative operation;
- and a reconstruction based on ethics, equal treatment and respect for staff.
We have obtained a financial audit to complete the administrative investigation carried out recently in order to clarify all the harmful practices in this establishment.
The DGPA announces that the management committee is leaving by the end of the year and the director who will be appointed will have a precise roadmap so that the management, the organization of work and the serenity of the agents are there.
The CGT, CFDT and SUD trade union organizations will be particularly vigilant regarding:
- à la protection effective des agent.e.s ayant témoigné ou alerté ;
- the absence of direct or indirect retaliation;
- future appointments and reorganizations;
- the transparency of administrative decisions;
- respect for staff representatives and social dialogue;
- and the restoration of a respectful and secure working climate.
Appointments are made in the next national and local authorities in order to follow the evolution of the situation in this magnificent site of the Ministry of Culture.
The agents of the Château de Pau finally deserve an exemplary administration, worthy of the values of the public service of Culture.
