Who are the “persona non grata” of the Met Gala?
A few hours before the prestigious event, the American edition of the Sun and that of L’Officiel have revealed a list of celebrities who we can be sure will not be on the red carpet this evening. The first of them is none other than Donald Trump. The American president is also the only “official” name on this list. If he often participated in the Met Gala before joining the White House, Melania’s husband today presents too marked differences of opinion with the popess of fashion, as she has already indicated publicly.
Rapper Nicki Minaj would also appear on this list, generally for the same reasons as Donald Trump. The “Starships” interpreter recently showed his support for the president, which would not have pleased Anna Wintour. More surprisingly, Tim Gunn, an influential fashion personality in the United States, would also be excluded. The former judge on the show “Projet Haute Couture” would have had differences with the ex-head of Vogue, and would have notably criticized her in public.
The actress Lili Reinhart, spotted in the series Riverdale, was invited a few years ago. The young woman owes her ouster to her position on the subject of Kim Kardashian’s drastic weight loss, to fit into her historic dress. Back on the fashion side, stylist Rachel Zoe would also be “avoided” by Anna Wintour. The fifty-year-old would have one day dared to say that she was more influential than the editor-in-chief of Vogue, which would have earned her the absence of an invitation. Tina Fey, Amy Schumer and Zayn Malik would also have lost their chance to attend the event, after having publicly criticized it.
