The return of the iconic Pussycat Dolls, eagerly awaited by fans, ultimately does not take place as hoped. Announced as a major reformation tour on an international scale, the adventure has already stopped in North America, where several dates have just been canceled. A decision which comes as a brake for the group, and which confirms the difficulties encountered around the ticket office. In a press release posted on their social networks, the artists evoke an “honest examination” of the situation on the North American market. Without ever directly naming the ticket sales deemed insufficient, the message nevertheless leaves little room for interpretation: “We have made the difficult and heartbreaking decision to cancel all dates in North America”, specifying that a single concert will still be maintained. A measured communication, far from the usual justifications that are sometimes more personal or logistical in this type of cancellation. The fact remains that this first series of disappointments already raises questions about the continuation of the world tour and the group’s ability to recreate the enthusiasm of its heyday.
Monumental flop for the Pussycat Dolls, what about the rest of the tour?
The only meeting held in North America will ultimately be their appearance at WeHo Pride, near Los Angeles, on June 6. A choice far from trivial for the Pussycat Dolls, very linked since their beginnings to the LGBTQ+ community. In their message, the group also emphasizes this strong bond: “The LGBTQ+ community has shown us unconditional love and support throughout our careers.” Enough to transform this isolated concert into a symbolic moment. On the other hand, on the other side of the Atlantic, the calendar is holding up. The dates in the United Kingdom and Europe are in fact maintained, with some even sold out. In France, the group is expected on September 19, 2026 on stage at the Accor Arena. A striking contrast which illustrates the disparities in enthusiasm depending on the territory, but which allows the Pussycat Dolls to defend despite everything a tour designed as a great celebration of their career and their emblematic hits.
A reformation which is not unanimous
Behind this mixed comeback, the reformation of the Pussycat Dolls continues to make people talk and divides part of the public. For this tour, only Nicole Scherzinger, Kimberly Wyatt and Ashley Roberts responded, leaving aside several emblematic members of the original era. An incomplete configuration which did not escape the fans, who were quickly divided between nostalgia and frustration in the face of this partial comeback which did not bring together the entire original team. The tension was even present in the interview: in the Today show, Nicole Scherzinger appears visibly uncomfortable. feels comfortable when asked about these absences, cautiously dodging the question. For her part, Jessica Sutta suggested that disagreements, personal or more political, could have weighed in the balance. Result of the races: a return to the stage which struggles to regain the unity and aura of the group’s great years. Case to be continued…
