Naturalistic film screenings, conferences, outings, and exhibitions: the Nature Climate Environment Festival returns to Aubusson from May 13 to 17, 2026. The Colbert cinema and various locations in Aubusson will host the public to address biodiversity and climate issues.
An established event in Creuse
It has become a highlight of spring for nature lovers in Creuse. The Aubusson Nature Climate Environment Festival returns for its fifth edition from May 13 to 17, 2026.
Organized by a team of volunteers with the support of public and private partners, the event offers five days of documentary film screenings, conferences, outings, workshops, and exhibitions focusing on biodiversity and climate issues.
The heart of the festival will take place at the Colbert cinema. Several activities are also planned at the Bourse du Travail, the Conference Room, and the Jean Lurçat Center.
Naturalistic films screened at the Colbert cinema
The Colbert cinema will host a diverse program of documentaries dedicated to wildlife and wild species.
Among the films offered:
- “Viens”, around the European woodcock
- “Qui a vu le loriot?”, immersion in bocage ornithology
- “Le Busard sur la paille”, dedicated to the protection of a threatened raptor
- “Objectif Chéire”, immersion in a French nature reserve
- “Le vivant qui se défend”, between naturalist observation and ecological commitment
Several screenings will feature the presence of directors and will be followed by discussions with the public. A competition will also reward several naturalistic works during the festival.
Conferences and round table on climate and biodiversity
The festival also offers several meeting sessions with specialists, including:
- A conference on the role of biodiversity in climate regulation
- Presentation of the new Limousin butterfly atlas
- A screening-conference on ten years of expeditions in polar regions
- A conference dedicated to remarkable trees in France
- An intervention on water and major glacial periods
A round table at the Jean Lurçat Center will also address the links between human, animal health, and the environment under the theme: “One Health for living beings and ecosystems”.
Nature outings and free activities around Aubusson
Throughout the festival, several free nature outings by registration are offered, including:
- Birdsong recognition with the League for the Protection of Birds
- Discovery of wild plants
- Bat observation
- Discovery of the aquatic environment
- Day and night butterfly outings

Workshops, exhibitions, and highlights for all ages
The public can also participate in various workshops, such as:
- Nest box construction
- Mammal footprint recognition
- Dissection of regurgitation pellets
- Introduction to naturalistic drawing

Several naturalistic art exhibitions will be visible at the Bourse du Travail, the Conference Room, and the Colbert cinema featuring photographers, illustrators, and sculptors throughout the festival.
New features of this edition include a new exhibition space dedicated to remarkable trees in France, a musical and poetic moment at the Lunot factory, and a storefront competition organized by Aubusson merchants.
