An event promoting peace through music
As part of the national festival “En mai, les arts en paix,” this cultural and citizen event aims to promote the values of dialogue, harmony, and solidarity through music. The Mandolin and Guitar Academy, directed by Vincent Beer-Demander, will offer a program featuring traditional Italian tarantellas, serenades, and pieces from the Mediterranean repertoire for plucked string instruments (mandolins, mandolas, guitars).
A locally supported initiative
The concert is supported by Jeannette Riou, municipal councilor of Saint-Savournin. Her involvement demonstrates the municipality’s commitment to culturally meaningful and inclusive actions. The Movement for Peace, through its local committee, emphasizes that “art is an effective means to denounce war and affirm the universal aspiration of peoples to live in peace.”
This musical event continues a long-standing tradition of concerts at the church of Saint-Savournin, which provides a particularly suitable acoustics for plucked string orchestras. It is a moment of sharing and reflection that music enthusiasts and peace advocates should not miss.
Sunday, May 3rd, at 4 pm, at the church of Saint-Savournin (Montée de la Servy). Free participation (donations support the actions of the Movement for Peace).
