The Orchestre+ association will organize the 6th edition of Orchestival from May 8th to 10th in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges, under the theme “music and cinema”. This year’s edition will bring together more than twenty musical ensembles, including new heads like “Musique en Scène” from Paris. The festival will kick off Friday evening at Espace Georges-Sadoul with the concert “Unisson des lumières, quand la musique rêve le cinéma”. Reservations are highly recommended.
Valérie Graschaire, the new godmother of Orchestival, will accompany this 6th edition focused on jazz and cinema. Originating from Metz, the Lorraine singer was the voice of l’Orchestre National de Jazz de Lorraine in the 1990s. Trained in classical piano before dedicating herself to jazz singing, she has been pursuing a career on the stages of France and Europe for several years.

The harmonies and symphonic orchestras of Saint-Dié-des-Vosges will perform together for the first time, joined by a jazz quintet consisting of Stéphane Escoms on piano and arrangements, Franck Agulhon on drums, Laurent Payfert on double bass, and Damien Prud’homme on saxophone. The day will also feature performances by the Orchestre Arménia and the Orchestre Allegro Vi’Vosges at Espace Georges-Sadoul.
The concerts will be spread over three days, with various musical ensembles performing at different venues in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges. The program includes diverse performances at different time intervals, catering to different musical tastes.
On the last day, May 10th, the closing events will take place at Espace Georges-Sadoul, featuring performances by various groups including Fous du Sax and Union Musicale du Thillot.
Before the start of Orchestival, an “off” event will be held around the festival theme. Screenings of the film “Nous l’orchestre,” offering insights into the Orchestre de Paris, will take place on May 5th along with quiz and game evenings at different locations.
