The ceremony celebrating French rap is back with a new edition. Record participation, a selection of diverse profiles, and the announcement of the “Supershow” with Spotify: the evening promises to be particularly packed.

The ceremony dedicated to rap and urban cultures will return on April 23rd at La Seine Musicale for its fourth edition. The event will kick off at 9 pm with a live broadcast on France 4, france.tv, TV5 Monde, and Booska-P’s YouTube channel.

Created in 2023 by Yard and Booska-P with Spotify’s support, The Flames reward artists from rap, R&B, and contemporary popular scenes. The project arose from a shared observation in the industry that these genres were underrepresented in traditional major ceremonies, notably the Victoires de la Musique.

This year, twenty-five awards will be presented. The winners will be selected through a voting system involving the public and a professional jury. Over 810,000 votes have already been cast for this edition, a record level.

The 2026 ceremony will be hosted by Newin Bokhari, Driver, Darryl, and Le Boug Arknow, with nearly 23 performances scheduled. Confirmed artists include Youssoupha, Gradur, Ronisia, Soolking, and Bigflo & Oli.

The evening will be structured by two formats: the “PHENOMENA” shows, dedicated to emerging artists, and the “Spotify Supershow,” inaugurated by L2B, designed as a complete performance with scenography, narration, and staging for a visually compelling experience.

Theodora and Hamza lead the nominations with seven each, especially in categories like “artist of the year,” “album of the year,” and “song of the year.” They will compete against other major figures such as Aya Nakamura, Ninho, Gims, and Jul. The new generation will also be represented by Timar, Nono La Grinta, and La Mano 1.9.
