A petition initiated by the feminist collective Salon Féministe was posted online on Tuesday evening, calling for the cancellation of Patrick Bruel’s performances in all cities as part of his “Alors Regarde 35” tour. The petition is supported by actresses Anna Mouglalis, Corinne Masiero, and Anouk Grinberg, journalist Alice Coffin, singer Pomme, and various local feminist associations like NousToutes.

Patrick Bruel, who is presumed innocent, faces allegations that raise concerns about the fairness of judicial proceedings while he continues to perform in various French-speaking locations. Signatories point out the numerous tour dates scheduled in 48 cities across France, Belgium, Switzerland, and Canada.

The singer contests the accusations and urges feminist organizations and municipalities to cancel celebrations involving an alleged perpetrator and show support for the women who came forward. This call follows a previous demand by the feminist collective NousToutes to cancel Bruel’s concert scheduled in Manche in July.

Bruel, who will turn 67 next month, is under investigation for two complaints in France. One relates to an alleged incident at a cinema festival in October 2012 in Saint-Malo, while the other involves accusations of attempted rape and sexual assault in Paris, dating back to 1997 in Mexico. Additional investigations have been opened in Belgium after a complaint in Brussels for alleged sexual assault.

In response, Bruel’s lawyer stated that the singer denies any intention to coerce anyone into sexual acts and claims to have always respected refusals and boundaries in sexual encounters.
