On Monday, April 13, actress Ruby Rose revealed on Threads that she was sexually assaulted by singer Katy Perry. Australian police have confirmed the opening of an investigation.

“Katy Perry sexually assaulted me at the Spice Market nightclub in Melbourne,” said Ruby Rose in a now-deleted post on Threads on April 13. The Australian actress then filed a complaint against Justin Trudeau’s current partner. The Victoria State Police confirmed on Wednesday, April 15, that an investigation had been opened. Since Ruby Rose’s post on Threads, the case has gained momentum, with the actress providing more details about her assault in response to some internet users.

“She didn’t kiss me. She saw me resting on my best friend’s lap, then she bent down, lowered her underwear, and rubbed her pungent vagina against my face until I abruptly opened my eyes and vomited violently on her,” she wrote. She continued, “(At the time) I publicly told the story but turned it into a funny boozy anecdote because I didn’t know how else to handle the situation.”

“If the actress had never corroborated these accusations, it’s because ‘later, she (Katy Perry) agreed to help me get my American visa. So I kept the secret. But I did tell you that she wasn’t a good person,'” she stated in another comment. She also specified that she was young at the time of the incident and it took her over 20 years to speak out publicly. Australian police explained, “Thank you for listening,” the star explained.

Following these revelations, Katy Perry publicly responded, stating, “The allegations spread on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false but also dangerous and irresponsible.” Katy Perry’s teams shared a statement through Variety on Tuesday, April 14. Ruby Rose has not commented on this matter since.
