Millions of French people follow specialized accounts in health, well-being, or nutrition.

  • Professionals warn about the tricks of several influencers.
  • Jessie Inchauspé, who has millions of followers on Instagram, sparks debate with her advice.

Doctors are angry. Influencers are giving advice on health, well-being, or nutrition. Millions of French people follow these accounts, which are thriving on social media. Most of them are run by real specialists. But not all these influencers are.

Jessie Inchauspé, better known as “Glucose Goddess,” is under scrutiny by the scientific community. “She holds a biochemistry degree, so she’s not just anyone. But she’s not a doctor. Over the years, she has become a true star, and her advice is listened to very carefully,” says Sandra Marconi, LCI journalist, on Tuesday, April 14.

The influencer, followed by more than six million people on Instagram and featured in several magazines, gained notoriety by advocating the consumption of apple cider vinegar. Her latest book, focusing on pregnant women, is facing criticism. She advises, among other things, to eat four eggs a day.
