Comrade Nguyen Manh Cuong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Department of Science and Technology, delivered the opening speech at the workshop.
This activity is essential within the provincial scientific and technological project “Research and proposal of innovative solutions to improve the quality of economic growth in Quang Ninh province for the period 2025-2030, with a vision to 2045”, led by the Ho Chi Minh City National Academy of Political Sciences. This project aims to thoroughly evaluate the current quality of the province’s economic growth and propose concrete solutions to directly support future socio-economic development planning policies.
During the workshop, representatives from the Ho Chi Minh City National Academy of Political Sciences, the leading institution of the project, presented an overview of the research results obtained. Participants focused their discussions on several key areas related to directions and solutions to improve the quality of Quang Ninh’s economic growth between 2025 and 2030, with a perspective to 2045. Among these areas were: promoting economic restructuring to increase the share of high-tech and high value-added industries and productivity; selecting and attracting strategic investors and quality investments; strengthening the contribution of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation to economic growth; and implementing policies to encourage the private sector to apply scientific and technological progress, innovation, and digital transformation.
The opinions expressed at the workshop also focused on solutions to develop new economic models, cross-border cooperation zones, special economic zones, and free trade zones; attracting and developing high-quality human resources; promoting cooperation and links in maritime economic development; and developing a green economy and inclusive growth.
The workshop provided an opportunity to take stock and exchange views on emerging issues, as well as new policies and guidelines related to improving the quality of growth; and to gather more opinions from experts, scientists, and managers to refine the comprehensive research report and propose innovative solutions to improve the quality of economic growth in Quang Ninh province in the upcoming period.
