PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) – Tactical teams responded to a reported hostage standoff in the Hazelwood neighborhood Friday morning.
Just after 5:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance with a weapon in the 1200 block of Northeast 122nd Avenue. Police said the initial reports were that an armed suspect was inside an apartment with a woman and was not allowing her to leave.

At about 8 a.m., police said the woman was able to get out of the apartment and is safe with officers.
Police said munitions have been deployed as tactical teams try to communicate with the suspect, who remains barricaded inside the apartment.
No injuries have been reported.
Northeast 122nd Avenue is closed from Northeast Halsey Street to Northeast Holladay Street. Residents in the area have been asked to shelter in place.
FOX 12 spoke with a neighbor who was surprised by the size of the police response.
“It's just an unusual response and I figured it was a hostage situation or something, and sure enough that's what's going on,†he said. “Hope everybody's ok, hope it's not a tragic situation.
