KEENE, N.H. – A fatal crash involving a pedestrian and a commercial vehicle shut down a stretch of Route 12 in Keene late Thursday night, according to police.
Emergency crews were called to the area just north of Maple Avenue at around 8:30 p.m. on April 23, where they found a serious collision. Authorities say the pedestrian suffered fatal injuries at the scene.
Route 12 was closed between Maple Avenue and Wyman Road for roughly four hours as investigators worked to document the crash and clear the roadway.
Officials have not yet released the identity of the person who died, citing the need to notify next of kin. Additional details about what led to the collision have also not been made public.
The response included personnel from the Keene Police Department, Keene Fire Department, New Hampshire State Police Troop G, and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.
The incident remains under investigation by the Keene Police Department’s Collision Analysis Team.
