In 2024, a major exhibition “Gustave Caillebotte. Painting Men” was presented at the Musée d’Orsay. Echoing this event, Sophie Limare, associate professor of visual arts and doctor in aesthetics and theory of contemporary art, took an interest in this daring painter to understand why he remained for a long time in the shadow of the impressionist movement despite his multiple talents.
Beyond the analysis of his masterful compositions which play with the viewer’s gaze, it will also address the role of patron of this visionary and generous artist, who has allowed French museums to conserve a number of impressionist masterpieces today. conference will be followed by a quiz (1).
The general meeting of the association will take place on Tuesday June 23 at 10 a.m. at the Accous town hall. On the agenda: moral, activity and financial reports for the 2025-2026 season, as well as budgetary forecasts for the next season. It will also be an opportunity to exchange and bring back observations on the conferences of the past season, to present the themes selected for the 2026-2027 season but also to collect expectations for future seasons. For those who wish, the general assembly will be followed at noon by a lunch in Urdos at the Hôtel des Voyageurs (2).
