The tale written by Clara Cernat on the occasion of the three hundredth anniversary of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons will be performed in Gramat by the violinist Clara Cernat and the Toulouse chamber orchestra conducted by Thierry Huillet. The speaker will be Michel Wolkowitski. The concert takes place on Sunday June 14, at the Gramat clock room, at 5 p.m.
Franco-Romanian violinist, violist and author, Clara Cernat, a leading representative of the brilliant Romanian violin school, obtained the highest rewards at the Bucharest Music Academy, then perfecting her skills in Switzerland and Germany. She regularly performs as a soloist in premier venues and festivals around the world, traveling to many countries. Clara Cernat, replacing the bow with the pen, wrote musical tales which received much praise.
A vast musical personality, Thierry Huillet has developed and internationally confirmed the highest musical skills as a pianist, composer and conductor. First Prize of the National Conservatory of Paris, in 1987 he won the First Grand Prize of the Cleveland International Piano Competition (USA). He is also a winner of the Busoni (Italy) and Tokyo (Japan) international competitions. He has played as a soloist and in recitals in the most prestigious halls in the world. It was he who set this musical tale to music.
After musical studies at the Toulouse Conservatory (singing, lyrical art, dramatic art and musical theory) and choreographic training, Michel Wolkowitski perfected his musical training at the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music in Rome, where he began his career as a singer.
Founded in 1953 by Louis Auriacombe, the Toulouse Chamber Orchestra is the oldest French chamber orchestra – and one of the oldest in the world! – which is interested in all music ranging from the baroque period to contemporary creation.
