Artists and journalists: resistance on the ground

Sarah-Lou Lepers, journalist, reporter and documentary filmmaker, is today the author and producer of the podcast “Tangram” for the University of Paris Sciences et Lettres, a podcast which makes the University’s research accessible. For RFI’s Atelier des Médias program, which analyzes the evolution of the media, she produced the report “Ukraine: defending journalism in times of war”. From March 2023 to August 2024, on behalf of a German NGO, she accompanied European journalists to kyiv to allow them to meet their Ukrainian counterparts. His desire was to try to understand the difficulties of practicing journalism in Ukraine, and to get his colleagues talking about what it is like to cover a war when it affects one’s own country and Laurent Wirth, historian and author, he taught history-geography in middle and high schools, then history in preparatory classes, as well as at the Institute of Political Studies in Paris. He published in 2024 with Harmattan “The possibility of the worst, in the face of war, 1914, 1939, 2022”.

This free event, open to all, promises to be a major civic event for the Lot area. By combining the rigor of historical research with the vivacity of field reporting, this meeting offers an essential key to understanding the crucial role of culture and information as bulwarks against armed violence. Meet on Friday June 12 at 6 p.m. in Martel to participate in the debate.
