Until July 6the cultural hall of the town hall hosts the exhibition by Yannick Soula. Known to the general public for his appearances in several television and film productions, the Hérault artist this time reveals another facet of his talent through a collection of works inspired by popular culture.
Creations on wooden pallets
Passionate about drawing since a young age, Yannick Soula draws his inspiration from the pop art world and more particularly from the work of Roy Lichtenstein.
For more than thirty years, he has been creating his creations on wooden palettes, using watercolor, acrylic, Posca and other techniques to bring colorful and original works to life.
Visitors will be able to find emblematic characters who have marked several generations: Deadpool, Batman, Iron Man, Goldorak, Lara Croft or even other heroes from comics, cinema, video games and popular culture from the 1980s to today. A fun and intergenerational universe that appeals to enthusiasts as well as the simply curious.
Each work presented is unique. Even when he uses a theme or a character, the artist takes care to never reproduce the same creation twice, making each palette an original piece.
Through this exhibition, Yannick Soula invites the public on a journey between nostalgia and modernity, where the icons of pop culture are reinvented under the gaze of an artist also accustomed to film sets.
The exhibition is accessible free of charge during town hall opening hours until July 6.
