This year, a cultural and media project brought together students from the Ulis system and non-native speaking students around reading, oral expression and the media. Coordinated at the CDI by Frédérique Landoeuer, librarian professor, with teachers Éric Cardenas and Nathalie El Filali, this work took place throughout the school year in partnership with Radio Escapade and thanks to funding from the Department’s AETs.

Radio columns and speaking engagements

Each student chose a work around major human themes such as courage, difference, identity or even commitment. After the reading and the presentations, the students wrote articles then recorded radio columns and audio capsules mixing voice and music.

“Before I didn’t like reading very much because I found it difficult. With the project, I managed to read a book to the end”says Benjamin. Marie confides for her part: “I was stressed at first but in the end I was proud of myself.”

For Milou, recording the audio capsules with music will remain the best memory of this experience, which allowed the students to gain confidence and to speak in a rewarding and caring environment.
