It is the fruit of a collaboration between friends which comes to fruition on Thursday June 4 from 7 p.m.
A unique and free evening is being prepared at the boutique streetwear Vibe au 3, rue Émile Zola à Toulon.
There will be graphic works and imagery of urban culture in an improvised gallery, imagined by Arthur Foisse, at the head of l’Affiche Française. Old collections, street art posters and visual culture will be mixed.
« I often came to Vibe because I was studying in Toulon and I got along with the team. I talked about my passion for posters and, one thing led to another, the team suggested that I exhibit a few pieces. They liked my work. So we thought about an event to create together.” explained Arthur Foisse.
Collective work live
This is how this unique, open and free evening was born, which will take place in two stages: a first part at Vibe with the exhibition and a DJ set, then, from 9 p.m., the festivities will continue at the Télégraphe for a second DJ set.
« À the gallery, a collective work will be createdÂ: I will set up a large board where people can add poster elements as they find inspiration. This will make an original set,” adds Arthur.
On site, around thirty rare and restored original posterswill be exhibited. Everything revolves around pop culture: pop art, music, cinema, advertising, cartoons… Those who want will be able to buy them.
300 other, smaller pieces will be available on very diverse themes: fashion, travel, cartoons, cars…
For the occasion, the Obey brand signs a partnership and will put on sale a collector’s t-shirt in 50 copies (at the price of 50 euros.)
But it is above all the posters which will attract attention because their restoration is a family affair for the Fouasses.
Arthur’s father, Dominique, worked for decades in his Solliès workshop to bring old posters back to life, mixing art deco, 1960s, sports, aviation…

The son, for his part, continues the path traced at 81, avenue Joseph-Louis Ortolan, in his shop located on the Saint-Jean du Var side.
On June 4, Bière de la Rade, Café Maurice and Neuja will also participate in the event.
The exhibition at Vibe will remain in place for a fortnight for those who cannot make time at the beginning of June.
