June 5 and 7: science fiction sets down at Rayonne

Every year for fourteen years, the Intergalactiques have helped Lyonnais navigate between cinema, social sciences and literature, but always with a single focus: science fiction! This year, come to Rayonne for a whole bunch of activities: exhibitions, screenings, round tables, geek flea market, musical readings, DJ set… We wanted to give you a selection from the program, but honestly, too many things tempt us.

The Intergalactiques, from June 5 to 7 at Rayonne (Villeurbanne). Free price from 5 euros, the program here

Outings in Lyon: our ten good cultural tips for the month of June

June 6: classical music + contemporary art = new developments

The Lyon Museum of Contemporary Art is joining forces with student musicians from the Lyon Conservatory. For a whole afternoon, the artists offer to discover the works in music, inviting visitors to wander through the museum. The students even found a name for this unusual festival: surgisissementS.

June 7: pétanque and solidarity concerts in the Slopes

We no longer present the Solidarity Sundays, organized in the Slopes by the Soutiens/migrants Croix-Rousse collective. This neighborhood party serves to raise funds to help unaccompanied minors, who sleep outside or in squats in the neighborhood. This June 7, there’s a pétanque tournament on the program, followed by a concert by OKIS and Voilaaa Sound System, but not only that!

Solidarity Sundays #23, June 7 from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Trois Gaules amphitheater (Lyon 1ᵉʳ). Registrations requested for the pétanque tournament

June 10, 17 and 24: talk about freedom(s) over a little coffee

The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes associative movement is organizing a cycle of meetings around the theme of freedoms. On the menu, three meetings on feminist and queer associations, anti-racist associations and the fight against Islamophobia and finally on environmental associations. Rue89Lyon will pass a head to the latter “Café des libertés” scheduled for June 24, to cause media treatment of ecology and struggles.

Cafés des Libertés, June 10, 17 and 24 in Lyon and Villeurbanne. Free upon reservation

June 11: we talk about press freedom at La Duchère

Is there a free press in France? The title is, perhaps, a little strong. In any case, it testifies to the growing distrust existing between the media and their audiences in France. What constitutes information? Opinion? Are we free to write whatever we want? To discuss it, the Foyer protestant is organizing a meeting within its walls at La Duchère, on June 11, at 7 p.m., with Rue89Lyon and Arnaud Alibert, editor-in-chief of the newspaper. The Cross. Please note: registration required.

Is there a free press in France? Thursday June 11, 2026, at 309 avenue Andrei Sakharov (Lyon 9ᵉ). Registration at 04 78 35 30 66 or at contact@foyer-duchere.com.

June 11: a taste of world music

“Soïo Mundo”. Behind this name hides a world music festival organized by the Rhône-Alpes Traditional Music Center and programmed for three years in Lyon, at Blandan Park (Lyon 7ᵉ). But don’t be too impatient, it won’t start until the beginning of July. In the meantime, the festival is organizing a warm-up with an open air at the Transbordeur with Zerzura, Morenica and Shahzen. It’s free, just book!

Warm-up: Soïo Mundo, June 11 at 7 p.m. at the Transbordeur in Villeurbanne. Free, upon reservation.

From June 12 to 14: a radio festival to think about climate change

Already eight editions for “the school of the Anthropocene”, the Lyon festival of ideas which combines radio, drawing, conferences, screenings, workshops… In short, you will definitely know your way around! This year, the festival takes place in four different locations: Hévéa (Lyon 7ᵉ), the ENS de Lyon (Lyon 7ᵉ), Le Périscope (Lyon 2ᵉ) and the Comoedia cinema (Lyon 7ᵉ).

On the programming side, a few proposals caught our eye: a masterclass on “The End of Property” on June 13, an evening with journalist Rokhaya Diallo, the screening of a film by Quentin Dupieux, “Le Vertige”, or even an intriguing masterclass “Investigation into the theory that fascinates Silicon Valley: what if our world did not exist?”

At the Anthropocene school, from June 13 to 14 in Lyon. Free or free price upon reservation, screening for a fee.

June 13: we think about ecology and working-class neighborhoods

In Vaulx-en-Velin, young people are brainstorming. The A Vaulx Ambitions association is joining forces with the school of sustainable territorial planning, ENTPE, to reflect on the ecological transition and mobility. With one question: will they bring more inclusion or create new exclusions for working-class neighborhoods? A day of reflection, with round tables, but also workshops for collective reflection to think about the world of tomorrow, from working-class neighborhoods.

« La mobilité change, et nos quartiers? », le 13 juin de 8 h 30 à 17 h 30 à l’ENTPE (Vaulx-en-Velin). Gratuit sur address.

June 22: better understanding justice through theater

Do you think justice is corrupt? That she is right-wing? Or on the contrary, ossified by the “red judges”? Perhaps it is time to question your prejudices about an environment that is often misunderstood. On the main stage of the Théâtre des Célestins (Lyon 2nd), lawyer Sofia Soula-Michal questions her profession, its requirements, its commitments and the realities it covers. His piece, And at justice I was countedwas adapted in collaboration with the University of Lyon III, the City and the Lyon Bar.

The project, supervised by the College of Law, was co-written with Me Yanina Castelli and Chrystelle Gazeau. He mobilized 18 students selected after auditions, who will ensure the presentation.

If justice were told to me, Monday June 22 at 8 p.m. in Les Célestins (Lyon 2ᵉ). From 12 to 34 euros.

June 23: far right, extreme danger, the Rue89Lyon x Streetpress collaboration

Don’t wait to take your places, it’s going quickly! Streetpress arrives in Lyon for the release of its book “Extreme Danger”, which takes an overview of the radical far right in France to better understand and combat it. Rue89Lyon invites itself to the party, for a discussion around the book with the founder of Streetpress, Johan Weisz.

Extreme danger, the tour, June 23 from 7 p.m. at the library of 1ᵉʳ. Free, reservation on site or at 04.78.27.45.55.
