Busy final stretch before the summer break. Festivals, exhibitions, concerts, round tables… the month of June is full as an oyster.

In addition to the events detailed below, let’s remember the 10th anniversary of the Cité du vin, celebrated from June 4 to 7, culminating in the big evening on Saturday June 6. The L’Orangeade collective offers an eclectic panorama of the Bordeaux scene: the sparkling EmmaFleurs, the DJ and multidisciplinary artist Stella Moris, as well as the two brothers from AVTEL. Circassian Guillaume Bellet will also be there to play with fire.

In Saint-Denis-de-Pile, the Musik à Pile festival takes place from June 5 to 6 at Bômale park and welcomes a supercharged program including “the enfant terrible of English rock”, Peter Doherty. In Villenave d’Ornon, on June 7, Le Petit Théâtre de Pain launches into “a 2 km theatrical adventure performed by 50 actors and residents of all ages.” This walk concludes their three-year residency in the city and takes place in several groups from 3:45 p.m. (free with registration).

And also, the 21e Eysines Goes Soul on June 26 at Domaine du Pinsan (free), concocted by Allez-Les Filles.

From May 27 to June 21: Aperçu biennial of graphic design in Bordeaux

The graphic design biennial Aperçu signs its second edition around the collective “do” from May 27 to 31, 2026 in different places in Bordeaux. From the gates of the Public Garden, to the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design, via the Disparate bookstore, N’a Qu’1 Å’il, or the Saint-Rémia space, exhibitions and meetings present “graphic design not as a frozen image, but as a collective adventure which connects people, ideas and territories”.

Two exhibitions will be held at Fabrique Pola until June 21: Do elsewhere will notably give the floor to several invited collectives – Fossile Futur, Haran Ubel, la Calade or Bon pour 1 tour – around questions of cooperation, housing and joint creation in New Aquitaine. In parallel, Messages / Images, graphics of general interest will present works created as part of a commission from the Cité Internationale de la Langue Française and the National Center for Plastic Arts, inviting graphic designers to defend through images the values ​​of democracy, inclusion and living together.

From June 3 to 25: Momentum Festival in Saint-Emilion and Médoc

This is the first edition of the Momentum Festival. This traveling event brings contemporary dance and hip-hop into dialogue with the wine landscapes of Gironde. Imagined by the Momentum association, it will take over six partner châteaux between June 3 and 25, from Saint-Émilion to Médoc, with the aim of making dance accessible to new audiences in places usually dedicated to wine.

On the program: the Bordeaux company Rêvolution, the Jeune Ballet d’Aquitaine, and the AREA Jeune Ballet de Genève. Each show is preceded by a presentation from the local dance school and followed by a wine tasting.

June 5 to 7: Cod Festival in Bègles

The City of Bègles is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Cod Festival this year. Concerts, street shows, brass bands, craft markets and family activities will take over the different districts of the city in a festive and popular atmosphere. Designed as a true “human village”, this free event highlights the richness of Belgian associations and culture through an eclectic and intergenerational program.

Among the highlights of this anniversary edition, the public will be able to attend numerous musical strolls, artistic performances and open-air concerts including Flying Orkestar (Friday 5, Balkan rock on a proposal from the Balterno festival), Welcome Wendy (Saturday 6, American folk singer on a proposal from the Slowfest festival), the Tambours de Feu (Saturday 6,
music and pyrotechnic creations for the closing) or the Jougadous, the emblematic choir of the festival.

Saturday June 6 will be marked by a major operation “record de marinières”, inviting residents and visitors to gather dressed in the famous striped clothing for a festive and symbolic collective photo. Gastronomy will naturally be in the spotlight with the “Restaurants en fete”, where restaurateurs and merchants will offer special menus based on cod.

In 2026, the Cod Festival continues to embody the warm and creative identity of Bègles. An unmissable event at the start of summer in Gironde.

June 5 to 13: Chahuts Festival in Bordeaux

The Chahuts festival returns to the Saint-Michel and La Benauge districts of Bordeaux for a 35e publishing around the arts of speech and public space. Theater, intimate stories, performances, poetry, music and popular festivals, Chahuts offers programming that is always engaged and sensitive and questions human connections, collective commitments and the stories that shape our society.

But before going any further in this 2026 edition, let’s focus on this alert (see illustration below) which reminds us of the difficulties that cultural actors are going through, and which encourages people to go see shows. Highlighting this call is obvious for Chahuts, which particularly highlights the notions of attachment, transmission and resistance through original creations mixing artists, residents and local associations.

Among the highlights of the festival are the great Feast of Saint-Jean in Pinçon Park, the Masked Ball in the streets of Douves, the poetic and musical evenings of the Capuchins, as well as several shows focused on feminist, social and political issues.

Designed as an accessible and friendly festival, Chahuts also offers free offers, participatory workshops and family meetings. Yoga storytelling, children’s boom, writing workshops, live radio, participatory chip shop and even open-air shows will punctuate these nine days of cultural encounters in the heart of Bordeaux. An invitation to come together, reflect, dance and celebrate together the vitality of contemporary creation and living together.

June 5, and from June 19 to 28: Festival of bodies at the L’Utopia cinema

The Festival Des Corps returns for a fourth edition dedicated to dialogues between dance, cinema and performance. Organized by the La Belle à l’Ouest association, the festival will set up its screens and meetings at the Cinema Utopia Bordeaux.

On the program: documentaries, experimental films, hybrid creations and exchanges with artists around the body in movement. As a prelude, on June 5, a unique screening of the film The Passion according to Mathildededicated to the principal dancer of the Bordeaux opera, Mathilde Froustey, will take place in the presence of the film team and the founder of the festival Jennie Sevestre.

The festival then continues from June 19 to 28, the program is currently being prepared.

From June 7 to 9: Musical Journey at Garage Moderne

Supported by the AAIR association, this new musical event “Le Voyage en Musique” is holding its first edition at the Garage Moderne. The event intends to break down the barriers between repertoires by bringing classical music and world music into dialogue. Designed as a sonic journey open to all audiences, the festival defends a sensitive and accessible approach to music, where influences, cultures and traditions meet through eclectic concerts and mixed creations.

An inaugural evening dedicated to Spain will combine lyrical pieces, popular dances and works inspired by Iberian heritage with the contralto Justine Maucurier, the pianist Artavazd Kachatrian (present on all three evenings) and the violinist Stéphane Rougier.

The next day, the festival will exceptionally welcome the Armenian musician Miqayel Voskanyan around the tar, a traditional Caucasian instrument still rare on French stages. Finally, a clarinet, violin and piano trio will offer a musical journey “from West to East”, between great works from the repertoire and more confidential discoveries, in a spirit of dialogue between styles and eras.

June 20: Night of the Médoc Forests

La Nuit des Forêts du Médoc invites young and old to a sensitive immersion in the heart of a private forest of the Médoc. Imagined by the Winter Story association under the artistic direction of Sarah Trouche, this free evening will combine living arts, naturalist discoveries and sound experiences from from 5 p.m., departing from Notre-Dame de Benon Church.

Designed as a gradual journey towards the forest, the event promises a stroll between sound installations by composer Bastien David, theatrical readings, choreographic performances and moments of contemplation under the trees. Favorite announced for the performance of Les Meutes Célestes at dusk, before a concert by the pop choir directed by Saul Juste.

Throughout the evening, participants will be able to enjoy land art and plant print workshops for children, a discovery of the forest with the FAIRE Foundation or even an activity dedicated to bats offered by the Médoc Regional Natural Park. A forest picnic inspired by wild plants will accompany this immersive experience, designed as an invitation to slow down and “really listen” to living things.

Du 22 au 27 juin : Refugee Food Festival à Bordeaux 

The Refugee Food Festival is taking place in twelve French cities for an 11th edition focused on sharing and hospitality. Born around collaborations between refugee cooks and local restaurateurs, the festival has been defending another way of talking about exile for more than ten years: through encounters, know-how and cuisine.

Sponsored this year by starred chef Manon Fleury and actress Aïssa Maïga, this edition will offer around a hundred events in restaurants, third places, canteens or taverns across France. Four-handed menus, banquets and culinary workshops celebrate unique life journeys and a “France to share”.

In Bordeaux, which is celebrating 10 years of its participation in the festival this year, several events have already been announced. The closing of the Bordeaux edition will take place on June 27 at Le Garage Moderne around a large convivial dinner. Refugee chefs Nataliia (Ukraine) and Rabih (Lebanon) will concoct a unique culinary journey, in a great festive, musical, supportive and gourmet evening.

From June 22 to 27: Garden Literature Festival in Libourne

For its 7th edition, the Littérature en jardin festival organized by the Permanences de la litterature association deploys a loose program in the Libournais between remarkable gardens and media libraries, focused on the links that literature weaves with life and landscapes.

Among the highlights, the opening of the festival at the Boma Media Library (Saint-Denis-de-Pile) will offer a unique comic reading of Redhead or the beautiful inhabitants of the universeadaptation of the novel by Denis Infante by the reader Frédérique Bruyas and the designer Troubs. An ecological journey told from an animal perspective, in which a young vixen crosses a world turned upside down by drought.

The festival also reserves several unique events mixing poetry, cinema and visual arts. At Cinéma Grand Écran, a tribute to Pier Paolo Pasolini will accompany the screening of The Gospel according to Saint Matthewwhile the poet Florence Pazzottu will return to the unpublished texts of the Italian filmmaker. Another favorite: the drawn concert Night train in the Milky Wayworn by Adrien Demont and Takuma Shindo at Médiathèque Aïga, a graphic and musical journey inspired by the Japanese classic by Kenji Miyazawa.

The grand finale on Saturday June 27 will take place at the Domaine de Siaurac, classified as a remarkable garden. Listening walks, gourmet walks around wild plants, flipbook workshops, poetic naps and literary encounters will punctuate this free day in the open air. Festival-goers will be able to meet writer Claudie Hunzinger for a meeting around “the spirit of the forest”, before an exceptional tribute to Valère Novarina read by actor Dominique Pinon.
