La Déambule marks the start of the cultural season in Bagnères-de-Bigorre. Three free street shows, between circus and humor, will make the city vibrate, even in the hospital and the neighborhoods.
If the summer program already started last weekend, La Déambule will officially launch the Bagnérais summer cultural season. Three street shows in three different places in the city, with a stroll to the rhythm of the Sambastone batucada, will enliven the spa town on Saturday June 6, from 2 p.m. And it’s free to the public!
Three shows, three locations
Co-organized by the town of Bagnères-de-Bigorre and the Les Maynats association, this annual event is always eagerly awaited by the public and this year again, young and old should appreciate both the three shows unearthed by Les Maynats and the general atmosphere generated by the event.
“The objective is to bring leisure culture to the neighborhoods (but not only that!) and attract an audience far removed from culture. But it is open to all,” invites Gilles Fort, president of the Maynats. And to underline, if it is still necessary given the reputation of the association in the matter, “popular spectacle does not mean that it is not of quality”.
The services planned for this 15th edition are proof of this. “As with all our shows, we went to pick them up at the Lido and elsewhere. We will have a very international edition with an Italian and Argentinians. We will start with “It rolls”, presented by Sergio Some on roller skates, and it will be a lot, a lot, a lot of fun”, enthuses Gilles Fort.
Same enthusiasm for the second show, “Niente Panico”, presented by Giuliano Garufi. “It’s circus but not only that. He’s an Italian artist who is very well known in the north of Italy and he amazed me. He’s a clown who performs while juggling and he makes people laugh a lot,” reveals Gilles Fort.
The rest will be with the Cie “Deux dames au Volant”, a duo of women who have created a show which promises to be breathtaking. In “Entre biceps et paillettes”, they combine aerial circus and humor. “It’s pure circus with ribbons but not only that. They are two clowns who make you laugh,” explains Gilles Fort.
The cirque at the hospital réeducation center
In short, laughter and wonder will be there and to allow as many people as possible to attend, after a first stop at Place d’Uzer, La Déambule will stop at the rehabilitation center of the Bagnères-de-Bigorre hospital. A first for this event, not for Les Maynats who have already set up their stage there to allow patients to also enjoy the joys of the live show. It’s also an opportunity for the public to discover the places and help to brighten up the sometimes very long hospitalization of patients. The stroll will then continue to the Géruzet district.
“The goal, with the Maynats, is always to bring people into the neighborhoods, where they are not used to going. And even if people from the cities don’t dare to go down, they can sit at the window or balcony to watch the shows,” emphasizes Gilles Fort. “It’s an interesting gateway into the live show which shows love, poetry and very strong emotions through images”, adds another “maynat”.
If we owe the selection of shows to Maynats, the association also provides its numerous volunteers during La Déambule while the city finances the event. A public-associative cooperation which has been bearing fruit for years and the new municipality is keen to continue on this path, as underlined by the two deputy mayors, Aurélien Cartade (communication) and Tony Puaud (culture).
See you on June 6, at 4:30 p.m., on the square in front of the Media Library before continuing to Place d’Uzer, to the rehabilitation center and finally to Géruzet. Fallbacks planned in case of bad weather. Complete program on the town or Maynats website and at the tourist office.
