PARIS: Algoflash Naturasol® launches two growing media alternatives to substrates

Green plants, cacti, orchids… occupy a special place in our interiors.

In fact, 43% of plant owners have cacti or succulents and 48% grow orchids*, two families of plants with very specific needs. Among indoor plant lovers, some practice hydroponics. No need for potting soil, they grow directly in water, in clay balls or other neutral substrate.

To keep these indoor plants in great shape, the choice of growing medium and nutrition plays a determining role. In a responsible cultivation approach, Algoflash Naturasol® offers an alternative approach to classic potting soils or traditional expanded clay balls with the Granuplant® range of mineral granules based on pumice stone. To meet the needs of cacti, orchids and succulents and hydroponic indoor plants, Algoflash Naturasol® is expanding its range with three new references: Granuplant® Substrate for Cacti and Succulents, Granuplant® Substrate for Orchids, and Fertilizer Granuplant® UAB** liquid.

Granuplant®, pumice stone for plants

At the heart of the Granuplant® range is pumice stone of volcanic origin, a 100% mineral and natural material. Its low-energy manufacturing process emits 90% less CO2*** than that of clay balls obtained by an expansion process at 1200°C.

Thanks to its porous structure, pumice stone ensures excellent air circulation, effective drainage, limiting water stagnation and preventing the risk of root rot.

Stable over time and inert, it does not promote the development of parasites (sciarids, midges…) and retains its properties over the long term.

New: Granuplant® Substrate for Cacti and Succulents

An environment favorable to cacti

Composed of very fine granules (0.5 – 2 mm) based on 100% natural volcanic pumice sand, Granuplant® Substrate for Cacti and Succulents Algoflash Naturasol® constitutes a sustainable alternative to traditional substrates for cacti and succulents.

Its sandy structure reproduces the natural growth conditions of these plants, while ensuring excellent drainage capacity. The water does not stagnate, which limits the risk of rot and mold, common among cacti grown indoors.

With an optimal pH, Granuplant® Substrate for Cacti and Succulents ensures good ventilation which stimulates the growth of cacti.
Usable in Organic Agriculture*, this substrate benefits from good structural stability and ideal resistance for growing large cacti. Inert, it does not constitute a favorable environment for parasites.
