As summer approaches, Morières-lès-Avignon unveils a particularly rich cultural and festive program for the end of May and the whole month of June. Between shows, music, games, popular traditions, open-air cinema and humor, the City will offer events for all audiences, in a friendly and family atmosphere.
This Saturday, May 30, promises to be one of the highlights of this program with several events organized simultaneously in different places in the town. First of all, the capoeira festival at the Perdiguier gymnasium: a festive event open to all to discover this discipline mixing sport, dance and Brazilian culture.
The world gaming festival
Also this Saturday, May 30, at 6 p.m., the City will offer a new musical event at Place de la Liberté with the “Concerts sous les micocouliers” during which the music school’s harmony orchestra, directed by Sylvain Tauziac, will offer a musical moment in the open air. A second concert will be scheduled for Saturday June 20.
Another unmissable event on May 30: the traditional world gaming festival at the Folard cultural space. Young and old, with family or friends, will be able to enjoy a multitude of fun activities with an edition which will notably honor Vaucluse game creators. Also on the program: blind test, quiz, outdoor activities, sumo and archery.
Place à la pop culture
The month of June will give way to pop culture. On June 6 and 7, the Folard cultural space will host the third edition of “Pop culture”: an event that has become unmissable which will bring together concerts, outdoor activities, cosplay competitions and video game tournaments.
La fête votive animate le centre-ville from June 13 to 16, which will vibrate to the rhythm of the traditional votive festival. Evening shows, concerts and popular events will punctuate these four festive days. Among the highlights announced: a tribute evening to Johnny Hallyday as well as a concert with Fabienne Thibeault scheduled for Monday evening.
À Morières de rire
On Saturday June 20, Place de la Liberté will be transformed into an open-air cinema for a friendly evening under the stars. A great opportunity to enjoy the first summer evenings in a family atmosphere.
Finally, “À Morières de Rire” will celebrate its 10th edition from June 27 to July 2 at the Folard space. To celebrate this anniversary, several comedians will take the stage, including the presence of Arnaud Demanche in the main courtyard. An event now well established in the local cultural landscape.
