In Montpellier, the cultural scene includes jazz, graphic arts and contemporary creations this mid-week. This Thursday, May 7, the Jam des Jedis highlights nu-jazz, soul and funk with the Jeenko quartet at the Jam. At the Espace Saint-Ravy, the exhibition “In common the unknown” brings together artists from the Maison de la Gravure Méditerranée around engraving and artist’s books. For its part, Tropisme hosts the Hyperactive festival and its events combining exhibitions, music, dance and workshops.

The Jedi Jam

Nu-jazz, soul, funk and broken beat take over during this fourth episode of the Jedi Jam. The evening is led by the Jeenko quartet, which then welcomes all those who want to play in these same styles. This great moment of groove is preceded by the weekly conference on the history of jazz and popular music. At 6:30 p.m., Bernard Baldous talks to us about “musician heroes of American cinema”.

Thursday May 7. Concert at 9 p.m. Jam, 100 rue Ferdinand-de-Lesseps, Montpellier. Free.

The artists of the Maison de la Gravure Méditerranéee.

In connection with the Comédie du Livre – 10 days in May – and the National Print Festival, twenty-six artists from the Maison de la gravure Méditerranée (MGM) present collective works. The exhibition highlights several large format engravings inspired by a poem by Violaine Guillerm. Also see a selection of artists’ books created in residence or in the studio, as well as the development of a collective book whose construction the public will be able to follow.
From Wednesday May 6 to Sunday May 24, Tuesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Espace Saint-Ravy, Montpellier. Free entry.
